Day 01: Kathmandu-Zhangmu
(2500m); 123 km drive to Zhangmu and stay at hotel.
Day 02: Morning: drive 180 km
to the highest plateau in the world with good views of the Tibetan
landscape and sheer feelings of standing on the roof of the world.
Then crossing over Nyalam pass (3,800m) and Lalungla pass (5,050m)
with breathtaking views of MT XISHAPAGMA (8,212) and MT DORJI
LAKPA (6980m), in the west. In the east MT MAKALU (8201m), and
MT GURUSHANGAR (7134m), peaks of more than 8000 meters high can
be seen. Two hours driving from the pass will reach Xegar. O/n
camping near Tingri with nice views of Everest on the left and
CHO OYU in right.
Day 03: Drive from Tingri 200km
to Rongbuk monastery, crossing over the Pangla pass (5150m) to
camp at Rongbuk or Everest Base Camp.
Day 04: Departing the Rongbuk
valley, continue walking on to Everest base camp, at an elevation
of 16,699 feet (5,500m) discovering a host of other peaks that
are worthy of your camera’s attention; overnight in camp.
Day 05: Depart from Base Camp
and back to Rongbuk monastery, return drive to Tingri the same
way. O/n camping at Tingri.
Day 06: Drive Tingri to Zhangmu-Kodari
border then departure to Nepal side.
