We barely had a plane ticket to Kathmandu, where we had to meet with Mr. Silwal from Frendship Nepal Tours. The trip started in Kathmandu, and then went onto Tibet, to finally end up again in Kathmandu after a 6 day landcruiser trip through Tibet.
The first three days we visited Kathmandu, and the nearby cities of Patan and Bakhtapur. The visits were great and we even got a Spanish speaking local guide just for us!

On the fourth day we took the plane to Lhasa, again we got our Chinese visas, plane tickets and everything else from Frendship Nepal Tours, they also booked the hotel, landcruiser and local Tibetan guide and driver for us in Lhasa.
After one hour flight over the Himalayas we entered into Tibet…

The Tibetan local guide was excellent. We spent three whole days in Lhasa visiting The Potala, Drepung Monastery, Barkhor Square and the Norbulingka. After that we started our way back to Nepal on a 6 journey trip which had to take us up to the Mt. Everest base camp.
The first two days we visited Gyantse (old Tibetan city) and Shigatse.

The lodgings were much better than we´d expected and we felt very confident with our guide and driver.

Finally we reached Rongbuk Monastery (5.000 mts), and the base camp from where we enjoyed a spectacular view of the Mt. Everest.

The last part of the trip included the Gyatso La Pass (5.200 mts.), one of the highest roads in Tibet, and then a breathtaking descent to the Nepalese border. It was on that part of the trip when we had some mechanical problems and again Druma (our guide) and our driver took care of everything and looked for another landcruiser to continue the trip from Nyalam to Zhangmou (Chinese border). These last 30 kms, under the rain, on a road under construction and with some landslides, were the most risky ones.
Finally, everything ended up well and we crossed the border…..As we expected, an agent from Frendship Nepal Tours was in Kodari waiting for us to take us back to Kathmandu, “our central office” to arrange the details for the second part of the trip, Chitwan National Park and Pokhara. Everything was very easy, so we were on the way again the next day, with a private car and driver.

The elephant ride on the jungle was great!!!!! We thought that two days were enough for Chitwan, so we proceeded to Pokhara. Superbe views of the Annapurnas, shopping , a short trek and some relax after all these days…
